Designing the Hilltop Apartments was more of a journey for us, beginning with the history, culture, and architecture of Crete. We endeavored to engage all our senses and translate these elements into ideas and proposals on paper. Intervening on a hill to create architecture in harmony with the landscape posed our greatest challenge and we believe that we succeeded. We followed the contours of the land and, in conjunction with the natural forms of the landscape, shaped our buildings. We aim for everyone who resides in these apartments to experience this journey and the connection we felt with the landscape—to feel the textures, explore the spaces, hear the sea, smell the herbs, and truly feel at home.
INTERIORS Hilltop Residences are a tribute to traditional Cretan architecture and craftsmanship. The simplicity and functionality of our spaces are inspired by the cultural heritage, particularly the 'salas' or lounge areas, which are communal spaces meant for gathering and celebration. The use of natural materials and primitive forms creates a warm, familiar atmosphere, engaging your senses. The interiors are further enhanced with traditional handmade textiles, vibrant red fabrics, and the ornate patterns typical of Crete, adding a rich layer of colors, textures, and architectural depth.
